About Texas A&M Corps of Cadets Halls
The Texas A&M University Corps of Cadets is one of the largest uniformed bodies of students in the nation, providing hands-on leadership and celebrating its university traditions. Approximately 2,000 students participate and live in dormitories on the Texas A&M quad.
The challenge
The project called for replacement roof coating systems on nine Corps of Cadets dorms dating back to the 1930s, and for new roof coating systems on two newly constructed dorms. What's more, the scope of the multi-structure, multi-phase project meant hundreds of workers delivering and installing systems on several buildings simultaneously.
The solution
To address hundreds of workers traversing multiple buildings, which have multiple penetrations, Absolute Roofing and Waterproofing of Austin, TX recommended a GAF Premium Acrylic HydroStop® system. That let them install a foundation coat that workers could walk on to complete other tasks. Later, they repaired that foundation where necessary and completed top coats to meet all necessary requirements.
